I hate wash day, Miss Penny speaking. It is two hours of torture and I am a nervous wreck at the end. Susan thinks I don’t notice as she sorts the dirty clothes into piles and loads the laundry basket into the cart. We live in a condo (no, in suite laundry) and the Laundry Room is on the lower level. I have no idea what’s in that room, I’m not allowed in (condo rules). Perhaps they’re afraid I’d run off with their knickers or something. Hee, hee! It might be fun whirling around, peering through that little window. Maybe not, I could drown or get eaten up like socks. Susan has a routine, first I get put in my bed and she disappears with the laundry. Then she comes back, sets the timer and gets on with her morning writing and things look normal except it doesn’t fool me. I know as soon as that timer goes off Susan leaves again. Something bad is lurking in that Laundry Room, and it’s not safe down there. I shiver and shake and I get kind whispers in my ear, which is nice, but Susan doesn’t understand how stressful this is for a little dog, she might not come back. Finally, I’m relieved to see the cart come back with a pile of clean laundry and I help with the sorting and putting away. Hey! If you like my blog why don’t you subscribe?
