I’m Seriously Miffed!

I’m miffed, seriously miffed! Miss Penny speaking. As most of you know I am Susan the author’s assistant. I listen to her stories, give my approval, or give her cuddles and licks (she’s not always happy with the licks) when things don’t go

I am the Best Dog Assistant Ever!

right. It’s mostly a rewarding job. So, why am I miffed you ask? Because I discovered, while Susan was redesigning the covers for the Lavender Cottage novels, that she features four dogs in that series, and I am not one them. Can you believe that?! I don’t mind that Buddy Boy is the main dog character, he is Katie’s dog, the main character in the story. She’s had a difficult time and needs a cuddly dog. Buddy Boy was Susan’s dog and my predecessor. By all accounts a charming laid-back gentleman; I think I would have liked him. But these others, Loving Lily had better not be loving Susan and Protector Sam, he’s enormous and what’s he protecting? I might be little but I can protect Susan just fine, even if I don’t like to bark. Although I did bark the other day; a strange man was cleaning our windows. I just wanted to make it clear I was watching him. So, Lily and Sam are whopping big retrievers and seem to have no connection to Susan, except they belong to Katie’s friend Judy, in the story of course. Then, there is Arthur, more my size and a wiry energetic dog like me. He belongs to this handsome guy called Piers. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out where this story is going—Katie recently divorced and Piers, a secretive handsome single guy. Even I can figure it out and I’m a dog, well sort of. However, none of

A Second Chance at Love

this explains why I am not one of the Lavender Cottage dogs. Susan says four is enough and I will have to wait for another series. Well, we’ll see about that! Very seriously miffed! The evil eye won’t work today, I’m not talking about Susan’s writing because I need to sulk, then I’ll get cuddles. Susan speaking, Poor Miss Penny, I’m sorry but I promise you’ll be top dog in another book. I’ll take over today and we’ll have cuddles. Miss Penny speakingHee-hee! It works every time.  Just a note to add I’m still working on changing the paperback covers and uploading books 2 and 3. of  Lavender Cottage Novels and they are spectacular.
