A heebie-jeebie week, Miss Penny speaking, I made that up but it’s appropriate.
First it was too much ignoring as Susan finished and uploaded the Box Set of the Lavender Cottage Books. Then, (this is the worst part) Susan starts flitting about and I’m shoved in the office with the door closed, more time than I can count. Laundry day, our laundry is downstairs, Susan keeps disappearing, she says, she’ll be back but how do I know? Forsaken for a load of washing? Me, the princess! Then, she’s busy wrapping things, not paying attention and off we go in the car. I hate the car and it’s my walk time. But wait for it, there’s more, she leaves me in the car and goes to the Post Office, something about parcels to England. I can’t see her, the store swallows her up and I’m trapped in the car, the heebie-jeebies are making my heart thump. Phew she’s back and we go home. I get a very short walk and I’m suitably miffed. Yep, it’s not over yet. Both phones are jangling, multiple times, and each time I’m shoved in the office and she disappears with books in her hand. What’s going on? I’m a nervous wreck, never to recover. So much isolation (no not the Covid kind) and desertion is traumatic. I use my sad face and get cuddles as she explains that OIW (Ottawa Independent Writers) has published an anthology Short Stories for a LongYear, neat title, because of Covid people are picking up their books from here. Well, the princess is not impressed. I am sure you will agree, heebie-jeebies is an apt description. Oh here comes the evil eye, not that Susan is in my good books this week, being ignored and deserted takes its toll. I get carried away, alwaysthe princess, I’m almost oaky so here’s an update.
