Do you like my Santa hat? Miss Penny speaking. Christmas is not far away. Do you like Christmas stories and cooking? Christmas at Lavender Cottage has both, click here, Now, curl up and read or cook. My favourite place is to curl up in Susan’s arms, well not quite her arms. Psst! Susan is a bit chubby, good for

cuddles, but she’s a touch sensitive about it. Anyway, she has a shelf on her chest and I can curl up quite comfortably. She complains she can’t see over my head, so I move but then she complains she can’t type with one hand. I get it, she’s an author so she has to write but, maybe she should learn to type with one hand. Um… that comment didn’t go down well, I got the raised eyebrow and the don’t-mess-with-me look. I shouldn’t have done that now I’m delegated to my bed. I need another tactic, pawing her knee sometimes works, especially if I put my

head to one side and look very cute or if there’s no response I can try the sad eyes. If writing sessions are intense, which they seem to be at the moment, the cute stuff doesn’t work. Psst! Chewing my paw gets her out of the chair. Hee, hee! Susan thinks I have a burr in my paw, then I get cuddles while she looks for it. But, despite my efforts serious writing is continuing. Oh here comes the evil eye, I’m Susan’s author assistant and the whole idea of this blog is to talk about her books and I get carried away, always the princess. As I mentioned serious writing this week Heart of Sophie’s War – Book Two is up the Chapter 21. There’s a hint of a new romance, tender glances between Emily and one of the young surgeons. Sophie of course is yo-yoing between Andrew and Carlos. One of the new and badly injured soldiers is a relative of the colonel’s and that’s not all, he may unwittingly divulge Trixie’s secret marriage. If you love historical fiction and
