Pirouetting Penny!

Pirouetting Penny, I guess you could say I pirouetted into 2021, Miss Penny speaking wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Now, for my dance explanation and rest assured I have no intention of being a circus dog. However, in the icy, snowy weather my paws hurt from the cold and the City of Ottawa spreads salt everywhere to stop people from slipping but that salt stings in my paws and I refuse to walk, pee or pooh. Susan attempts to pull me along, it doesn’t work. I don’t move but I try lifting my paws off the ground. I can get two at a time but not all four. You might think this is where the pirouette comes in but no because I’m too cold and start shivering. I win! Susan picks me up and carries me home, she carried me from Britannia Park the other day, that was a good walk, hee-hee! I had forgotten about doggie boots until New Year’s Eve, when I was plunked on the table and my paws are squeezed into these booties and this is where I learned to pirouette. I don’t want these things on, so I shake and lift my leg as high as I can and stretch it up and out and balance on two feet, that’s the pirouette. Susan laughs, really such an insult she laughs at my predicament. I get one bootie on each paw and I’m expected to walk so I pirouette. Psst! Don’t tell Susan but these booties work, no more sore feet and I turned the pirouette into a trot. No evil eye today as we took some time off over the holiday, so no writing activity to report.
