Valentine Kisses & Cuddles!

Valentine Kisses and cuddles, Miss Penny Speaking, I’m not sure what this Valentine thing is, but it sounds cuddly and I like loving stuff. I’m guessing Susan

Chocolate for Susan

is my valentine she cuddles a lot, except when she’s writing. My head gets in the way of the keyboard and when she’s holding me she complains her arm aches. Oh I’m getting the evil eye.  So…remember last week’s change of plan. I have to start the blog with the author section and this week is all about love. The Lavender Cottage books are about a second chance at love, which appeals to a unique older audience of young-at-heart readers; an engaging story set in an English village, clean and wholesome romance with normal people like you and me who experience the ups and downs of life, we have  pet dogs or cats, Katie has a dog, and good friends, a wish list or bucket list and delight in happy endings. Perhaps, not the usual mass market best seller romance but romance all the same, different and unique for special readers like you and me. Click here

Love and war, sounds contradictory but love blossoms in war. I’m not sure if they celebrated Valentine in WW 1 and I haven’t actually referred to it in Heart of Sophie’s War. We all know it was a brutal war of killing and maiming not something you associate with love. But the aftermath of battles called for double doses of love and caring. Nurses like Sophie cared for these men with love and devotion as they pine for their mothers or sweetheart.  Doctors, Captain Carlos

Even in war. Love survives

Wainwright and Captain Andrew Cuthbert mend soldier’s mutilated bodies and crippled minds. Stoic even unemotional as their expertise and skill repair broken men. These unemotional handsome doctors, display plenty of emotion and love for Nurse Sophie and without a doubt, the romantic kind. Which one might be Sophie’s Valentine?. As the story begins its exciting conclusion we are aware of changes and see different sides of characters unfolding, some good and some bad and slowly the answers emerge… no spoilers from Miss Penny. I listen to every word but I am sworn to secrecy. A good job I had a little say at the beginning, this is miss Penny signing off.
