Tugging the Towel

Tugging the towel, Susan’s towel to be precise, Miss Penny speaking. We play tug of war, um… that must be a Susan expression because there’s no war here,

but I do like tugging at things. Susan teases me with Pink Baby, she pretends to pull it away from me, I tug and growl, not much, just a little grr noise, because growling and barking scares me. Um… perhaps that’s the war part. Anyway, to continue, the other thing I like tugging is Susan’s towel. When she gets out of the shower she wraps a towel around her, not one of those flimsy tied at the waist men’s towels that ladies seem to get all hot and bothered over (I’ll never understand humans) but a big towel that covers all of her. Psst! It has to be pretty big, to wrap around Susan, if you know what I’m mean. Oops, the evil eye. What? I’m just saying. Back to the tug of war. I shake the corner of the towel, pull at it and tug at it, it makes Susan laugh, so I tug some more but at 3.7 kg I’m no match

I thought this might make up for the big towel comment.

for Susan’s strength. I wait until she’s not paying attention and one big tug and the towel is mine. I give it a good shake. She looks a bit cold, she only has fur on her head, not all over like me, although I have to tell you when I get bathed wet fur is very cold. A good job I don’t have to shower every day. Now I wait for her to pick the towel up so I can tug again but she throws in the towel and gets dressed. Hee-hee, do you get the joke? I’m getting the evil eye for a second time. We have been busy this week, not writing, Susan waits until the latest books done and ready to publish before she starts the next one. Amazon advertising, has taken up a lot of time and a couple of Facebook ads too to get the new version of The Blue Pendant Click here, selling again. Then we worked on the covers for the Sophie

Series, Susan even did some photoshop stuff. I have to tell you the boss’s new idea for Prelude to Sophie’s War is spectacular. The cover reveal will come next week and, she’s found a public domain photo site that has WW1 nurse photos so Heart of Sophie’s War will be next. All for now folks; until next week. Stay safe, this Covid thing is coming to an end. That’s a Miss Penny prediction.

Prelude to Sophie’s War – 2nd edition  – London 1915 Sophie starts her nursing career nursing bombed out mother’s and children as well as soldiers. German Zeppelin attacks are not the only thing Sophie battles at Bartley Hospital. Will her courage be enough to keep her sane and alive?  Heart of Sophie’s War –  Sophie achieves her goal of nursing soldiers in the Great War, the horrors are more than she bargained for on the Western Front. New covers for the Sophie Series, although for now there are no changes to the prequel Ruins in Silk.
