Office Al fresco, meaning to be in the fresh air, Miss Penny Speaking. Did you know al fresco is Italian, I am a pretty smart dog, but then you already know that. Susan is raising her eyebrows, I’m not sure I want to know what she’s thinking, princess, probably. It is very hot in Ottawa, a humidex of 39c, now that is hot especially as it is only May, which means the office goes outside on the balcony, see what I mean, ‘al fresco –
outside’. I like it out here, I can watch the little people down below, although it’s frustrating to see the squirrels. It’s a bit odd, that they climb trees but not this building, if they climbed up her I might be able to play with them. There is one problem with being on the balcony, Susan often goes inside and leaves me outside and, you know how I feel about being alone. She did it this morning, we were having a quiet coffee, when she went inside and forgot me. That’s perhaps not how Susan would see it. I like to play, run and twirl, which I did when she
tried to pick me up. You see I can’t jump over the step, well I probably can but I don’t try. Anyway when I ran off doing twirls on the balcony she left me for a very long time, remember the hallway incident, well that was bad enough but the balcony is outside, all kinds of things could happen. I noticed two spider webs; what if Spiderman came to visit and swept me up and took me away. See, Susan’s story telling is rubbing off. She did rescue me and I’m okay, in case you were wondering. Oh, here it comes the evil eye. As Susan’s assistant I’d better get to work. Susan asked me to remind you that several chapters of The Blue Pendant are available to watch and listen on Youtube ( sorry, with old cover). At long last, it sure took her awhile, I can tell you the cover for Prelude to Sophie’s War is finally done. It looks pretty good. Now we are going through the agonizing process of figuring out the cover for Heart of Sophie’s War. Psst! I am not looking forward to this as Susan cannot find what she wants and she is getting very cranky. On a higher note the beta copies are going out and it looks as though the release will be the end of June. That’s all folks.
