A Hero in my Dreams

At last, the visitors have gone and Susan is home and I can sleep and dream. Yes, dogs can dream. I even growl and bark in my dreams. Now I can curled up tight in my cozy bed and I dream.

I’m a hero in my dreams, Miss Penny speaking.

Further to last week’s blog the revolving door of visitors continued nearly all week, which meant we didn’t get much writing done and I am in need of naps. I was a nervous wreck and Susan was cranky. Psst! Susan loves friends and visitors but needs alone time too. I like visitors, more pats and cuddles but I don’t like the coming and going or even worse being left alone.

I’M BLURRY GETTING READY FOR A BIG TWIRL!

When visitors come I run up and down the hallway, I show off, twirling in circles and prancing when they arrive, I get lots of kudos for my antics so I do a few more twirls and run some more.

Oh, you want people as well? I thought I’d have canine friends instead. Is there a problem?

Over night visitors means Susan goes out more. I hate being left alone, usually locked in the office. Susan puts me in my bed, does she really think I will sleep? I scratch the door…Psst! I get into trouble for scratching the paint. I’m miffed and scared so I scratch, sniff under the door and listen for her to come home.

At last, the visitors have gone and Susan is home and I can sleep and dream. Yes, dogs can dream. I even growl and bark in my dreams. Now I can curled up tight in my cozy bed and I dream.

This was the best dream ever!

Everyone, Susan, Rose, Annabelle, Margaret and all the visitors are sound asleep in my bed, it’s a bit crowded but my herd is all together—dogs like to herd. In my dream I am Princess Penny, everyone bows to my needs, Hee-hee, I love this part, I make little yipping noises, bark a little and clap my paws. Suddenly, a big bad scary dog leaps into my herd, I pull myself up, all 9 inches of me, and stare at the villain, his head is bigger than me but I bravely growl at him daring him to fight. I shout at him, ‘I will protect my herd you monster’ the big hulk whimpers and slinks away. My herd cheers and claps for Princess Penny the brave hero ….

…then I wake up. Susan is laughing at my dream acted out with yips and growls and running paws.

Princess Penny saves the day! Ah, it was good while it lasted!

Wishing everyone sweet hero dreams.

Licks and cuddles
