I’m back, Miss Penny speaking, writing my blog. It has been many weeks since Susan went missing, swallowed by an ambulance. That was the last time I saw her, when she broke her ankle.

I am staying with Rose and Papa Pierre and there are two other doggie visitors, Frannie and Rupert, but just to be clear, they are not as special as me.
Psst! Don’t tell Susan, but it’s pretty good here. Pierre made me beef stew with gravy. Yummy! And, the squirrels are numerous- do you like that word? I haven’t forgotten I’m author Susan’s assistant. Oh, I just had a terrible thought. Maybe she fired me! I miss her, but I have to say great things happen when I’m with Rose and Papa Pierre.
As I said, lots of squirrels here and one day I followed Papa Pierre out to visit a neighbour and then…wait for it…six squirrels ran right in front of me, yes six, can you believe that? My heart missed a beat. It was my lucky day with no leash on. I ran like a speeding bullet. No doubt in my mind I’ll catch this one. I could smell it, even feel his fur, a smidgen away from a little black one. Poof! Darn squirrels ran up the tree. I’m a pretty smart dog, but I cannot figure out how to climb a tree.
Tired of the squirrels, Papa Pierre took me for a walk, like the squirrels there are lost of canines in this neighbourhood. We met a Great Dane; he was massive, the owner was so surprised I went right up to him, he bent his head to sniff. I should tell you his head was bigger than the whole of me, but friendly. I know when dogs, big or small, are friendly and I am brave.

That’s about it for today. I am back on track with the blog, so see you next week. “What’s that?” You ask, “How is Susan? Well, Rose says she’s okay and might be home by early June. But I’ve seen evidence that she was kidnapped in the ambulance. I intend to investigate more about that next week.
Miss Penny put on your Sherlock Holmes hat, sniff under every rock, check each crook and cranny, let your nose solve this kidnapping, you can do it!
Penny check all the clues you will get to the truth, my little one,
From Mom (Leila) hugs
Thanks Mom, I will see what I can find out. Its very nice here with Rose but I do miss Susan Hugs Penny
