Relaxed, bored and finally busy as a bee, Miss Penny speaking. I have done it all this week. As noted in an earlier post I have a lovely comfy new bed, very cozy and extremely relaxing but when I’m no longer sleepy I am bored, that was the last blog.

However, the tables have turned and I am in ‘author assistant’ mode and as busy as a bee …
…not sure what bees have to do with listening they make an annoying buzzing sound. Busy for me, (I’m a part human and part dog not a bee) means I have to listen intently to the story. You guessed it Susan finished writing the last Sophie book and that means she reads it aloud, from cover to cover. I cuddle up, not in my bed but in Susan’s arms—it enhances my listening ability.
What? You don’t believe me, I’m crushed.
Honestly and truly, I use body language and a few whines and snorts, I don’t bark, it scares me. When I move my head, side to side, I’m indicating that I’m not quite sure and it probably needs more work. A yawn (sometimes with bad breath) means, I’m bored—that often causes Susan to give me a disgusted look. Licks, especially under Susan’s chin, indicates I really like it. Kicking up a fuss when Susan wants to put me back in my bed says I want more. Psst! I pretend it’s the story but actually it’s more cuddles.

Once the reading is done, I can play with pink baby or my ball. We found a stray ball on our walk the other day, it came from the tennis courts. Finders keepers, losers weepers, I trotted home with it; it’s quite bouncy and bright yellow.
Bye for now ….
Love and doggy kisses
Miss Penny
