A tower of wind, Miss Penny speaking. No… not that kind of wind! Although too many liver treats and it could be.
After a cold, miserable spring, Ottawa has been plunged into a hot, steamy June, so the complaints continue. I’ll never understand humans.
If it’s cold, curl up with something—or someone—warm, and if it’s hot, spread out flat and don’t move. Simple!

Susan never takes my advice, so she gets hot and sweaty and decides we need a new fan.
This big, tall box arrived by FedEx. Susan was none too pleased because they left it in the lobby and she had to haul it up to the apartment.
The box contained a tall white thing that required some assembly.
Have you ever seen Susan with a screwdriver?
Psst! She may have nimble fingers for writing, but with a screwdriver… it’s hard to watch.
The screws on the bottom seemed a bit loose, but what do I know? I’m a dog.
After much fiddling, cursing and derogatory comments about the designer of the contraption, I hear a high-pitched beep and it blows wind into the office. Another beep and it goes faster.
I’m curious and give it a sniff. It meets my approval. The wind is fresh and cool.
I’m liking this windy tower until… it starts moving from side to side.
Psst! I knew those screws were not tight enough. Oh no! It’s going to fall.
Susan, do something!
She laughs. I kid you not, Susan laughs at me.
Such an insult.
But I have to admit the windy tower is still standing. It’s okay—it’s supposed to oscillate.
Hee-hee, do you like my big word?
Oops! Here comes the evil eye. I’d better do my author assistant job.
Susan is featuring all six Lavender Cottage novels on Amazon.
Work on The Painting is progressing nicely. The artist has arrived at Lochbrae Castle to paint Eleanor’s portrait and secrets are about to be revealed. I can tell Susan is really excited about this part. Me too. I could twirl and chase my tail, although I don’t think Susan will join me.
Now, that image is funny.
All for now, folks. See you next week.
Doggie licks and tail wags,
Miss Penny
