My name is Bella. Yep, it’s me, Miss Penny and I am teasing you, because I am soooo excited.
If you are a fan of Katie and Piers, you probably love dogs too. There are four dogs in the Lavender Cottage Novels; Arthur a terrier, Piers’ dog, Sam and Lily, both Golden Retrievers belonging to Judy and Buddy-Boy Katie’s Bichon Frise. Now Buddy-Boy, I forgive because he was my predecessor and Susan misses him. The others? Well, I have no comment.
I am miffed, very miffed! Can you blame me?
I know it is puzzling as I work hard as Susan’s author assistant and Princess Penny, that’s me of course, is absent from all six books.

Oh, Susan says I’m pouting and wallowing in self pity when I should be happy and she is right because something amazing has happened.
Okay, wait for it. This is headline news. I am one of the principal characters in Susan’s new historical story. We’re not sure if it will be a short story or a novel. I’m hoping for the novel.
Anyway, my name is Bella. Famous stars don’t use their real names. Bella is perfect for me, it means beautiful. How cool is that?
Bella is a black Shih Tzu and looks just like me. My role is to love and protect Ellie. Easy-peasy as I do that all the time.
The story, called The Painting, starts off with an unexpected delivery of a large box. A strange package that makes Ellie’s fingers prickle when she touches it.
Okay, okay! I am cheating today. I wrote this blog a year ago. Psst! The Painting is coming along nicely and Bella, gets to time-slip. That means she travels from 2026 – 1889.
Licks, tail wags and happy smiles,
Miss Penny
a.k.a. Bella
P.S. Did I mention I do have my own book A Dog with a Blog Click for more.
