It’s me, Miss Penny. I was lost in the snow. Susan says I’m being dramatic. I kid you not; we had close to 40 cm of snow and that’s not counting the snow drifts. I am only 28 cm tall. Do the math?
Now, I don’t mind the snow. I enjoy pushing my nose in it when it’s fresh and fluffy, but not this week. Too much snow, too cold and too windy.
Sigh! Susan insisted we go out for a walk. Now Susan is 5’ 2” that is 157 cm. It’s unlikely Susan will get engulfed in a snowbank, although she has a sore hip, which makes her unsteady on her feet and her cane gets buried.
Psst! All the more reason we should not walk in the snow and cold. But no one listens to me and she plows ahead and I trot along.
It’s not too bad at first, only just above my boots, but it’s getting cold and when my chin hits a snow drift. That’s it. I dig my paws in. I am not moving.
Susan picks me up by the harness and carries me over the deep snow and puts me down. Nope! I am not moving.
Psst! I know that after she’s carried me several times she gives up and we go home to the warm. And … it works every time. Heehee!!
Writing this week sounds good.
Susan reads aloud when she’s checking the tone of a scene, especially if a character is changing. Gladys and Dan, the owners of the General Store in Lavender Cottage Book 6, are reopening the store with excitement. I can’t say anything more without spoilers.
