Back to Work

I look particularly pretty and intelligent as I listen to Susan? She reads aloud so I can comment on the progress. That’s my job as her assistant.

It’s about time! Yep, it’s Miss Penny speaking!

We are back to work. We are not in the office yet. Psst! The office is a mess, still full of boxes from the redecorating. It’s about time that was cleaned up, too. So, we’re working in the living room. I’m okay with that because I like to being close or velcroed to Susan; remember my last blog?

Still recovering from her injury, Susan has to rest her feet on the ottoman. Now, the ottoman is new. I don’t like to brag but I suggested this style as it is wide, perfect for two. Susan has half and I have half. I’m not quite velcroed but close enough. Of course, that’s only when I can’t get on her lap. I haven’t figured out a way to curl up between Susan and the laptop, allowing Susan to type. Even I acknowledge she has to write, but rest assured, I’m working on it.

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words.

In this case, we are up to 20,000 words. If you look closely, you can see the story in progress, Book 5 of the Lavender Cottage novels.

Pretty smart looking author assistant, don’t you think?

Speaking of assistants. I am a little worried, as it appears from the latest edition of Susan’s Reader News, that there are two more assistants. Rose, she is one of my favourite people and I’m okay with Rose. She does bookkeeping. I’m not good at numbers. Psst! Neither is Susan.

There’s a new lady called Tanya. I haven’t met her yet. She lives in Zoom. I see her on Susan’s laptop. She seems very nice and definitely clever. Her job is working on the newsletter and something called analytics. Way over my head and Susan’s too. I’m keeping a watchful eye on Tanya; no sneaking up on my blog, at least not until I’m ready.

Lots of doggie licks and woofs from Miss Penny

P.S. More back to work news and upcoming promotions in Susan’s Reader News. Check it out. Psst! Can you help me keep an eye on Tanya?

Good morning Penny, it seems you have had quite a few months being away from Susan! Now it is time retake your place and see from the blog you are regaining your seat as Susan’s assistant and that is your claim to fame, just remember each added person makes your job a little more important, checking that these new people do their job well and you keep on eye on Susan don’t let her jump over any more boxes, nor slide down hallways, just be yourself and keep her safe. Message from your Mom (Leila)

  2. Susan says:

Hey Mom 🐾 thanks for the advice. I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. Love Penny (Miss Penny)
