Long Needle and Big Jabs

What is the one thing I hate more than the groomer? Yep. You got it, the vet. As if it wasn’t bad enough that I was at the groomers’ last week, I was whisked off to the vet’s this week.

The Vet

What is the one thing I hate more than the groomer? Yep. You got it, the vet. As if it wasn’t bad enough that I was at the groomers’ last week, I was whisked off to the vet’s this week.

I am greeted by a nice lady, who tries to sweet talk me. Hum! Not a chance, lady. You can’t fool me. I know what’s coming.

First, I’m put on the scale, 7 lbs 10 oz. I gained 5 oz. Hey, that’s good. Feeding me the good stuff, more chicken less kibble, actually works. Susan, please take note, that dry kibble stuff is not for me.

Next, we see the vet lady, all things considered, she seemed nice. That is until she gets out this enormous needle. I kid you not. It was the size of one of Susan’s knitting needles. Perhaps not that long, but big and there were two of them. Jab. That hurt. Jab again on the other side. I didn’t say ouch, growl or whine. The vet said I was a real trooper. Psst! She said the big dogs are the whiners.

I am proud of myself and feel great. I even behaved in the car going home.

That’s better, but it still hurst.

That was until we got home and then I didn’t feel so good. My haunches hurt, and I wanted to sleep. I gave Susan the look ‘what did you do to me?’ She said it was to keep me from getting sick. I’m not sure about that as I do not feel well. Susan gave me cuddles and snuggled me in the furry blanket.

THE VET HURT ME. I’M NOT WELL AND I’M STAYING IN BED

Next morning I woke up stiff, and I hurt. I decide to stay in bed. Susan tried to get me up and insisted on making the bed.

She said we had work to do. I made it very clear to her I was staying in bed. Work, indeed! I’m sick and deserve a day off.

Okay, a brief update. Finally, it sure took a long time, but we found a title for the new book Secrets in the Shadows Book 5 of The Lavender Cottage Novels. The editing is almost finished and the cover design is under way.

That’s all for today. I’m going back to bed.

Everyone needs a day off now and then, Miss Penny. And after a knitting needle being stuck in your leg, I figure that’s as good a reason as any.
